Fodera Imperial Elite 5-string

It features a mahogany body, flame walnut top and headstock cap, alder tone block, maple neck, ebony fretboard with abalone block inlays, Semour Duncan dual-coil pickups, and a Mike Pope preamp. I've never played a bass that is versatile as this. It has the perfect balance of warmth and clarity and the best parts of vintage and modern tone.

1973 Fender Jazz Bass

This bass has an alder body and a rosewood fretboard. I bought this bass because #1: to make sound engineers happy and #2: old Fenders are vastly superior to new ones. When I got this bass the pickups were not happening, so I put in some Nordstrand NJ4SV's and it now is the best sounding Fender I have ever laid my hands on! It can do the Marcus Miller thing, the Jaco thing and gets really close to the Jamerson thing. Plus, it has an unbelievably great feeling neck and it is super light-weight too!

Surine Quest 5-string

It has a mahogany body, a zebrawood top, back, & headstock cap, a 34" scale, a flame maple & purpleheart neck, and an ebony fretboard. It has two Bartolini soapbar pickups and a Bartolini preamp. I found this bass for sale at a music store in Tallahassee, FL with the highest action I have ever seen on a bass, along with black tapewound strings. Even then, it sounded amazing and I knew it was the bass for me. (Of course now I have light gauge roundwounds and medium/low action on it!) You can see this bass printed in old issues of Bass Player Magazine in Elderly Instruments' ads.

Zon Sonus Special 5-string fretless

I drove all the way from Dothan, AL to Louisville, KY to purchase this bass! It has an ash body with a bubinga top, a graphic neck with a phenowood fretboard and bubinga fret lines, and Bartolini pickups and preamp. I don't know what else to say except Zon makes the greatest fretless basses ever.

1994 Fender Mexican Precision Bass

This is my first bass. It is hard to get a good setup out of this bass, but it has an incredibly high output and fat sound.
